Our fabrics, trimmings and fastenings are selected for quality, ease of care and durability.

Wherever possible, we choose fabrics which will withstand a lifetime of repeated washing and ironing. Our buttons, zips and other fastenings are attached with great care, to stand up to mishandling and tugging.

Unlike so much of the childrenswear now available, we do not design or manufacture for 'one-season' lifespan.

It is our intention that, in line with centuries of English childhood tradition, as cardigans or dresses are outgrown, they should be of a quality sufficient to merit folding them away tidily, to await being grown into by younger siblings or relatives.
